A faithful presence of love in the absences of our city.

Why Study God's Word as a Group of Women?

I have been involved in Women’s Ministry for more than a decade now and as I reflect on the Bible Studies that I have been a part of and the women I have studied with, prayed with, rejoiced with, struggled and cried with and been blessed by, I have no words within me to describe how much my life has been changed by the fellowship and study that I have been a part of. 1 John 1:3 speaks to the beauty of healthy Christian fellowship. “That which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

Giving of your life and love for Christ, sharing your experiences in the Lord is a natural progression in the faith. We were made for worship and for the glorification of our remarkable Savior. I have never felt as richly blessed as I continue to feel when I am with other sisters in Christ. I was going to talk about what an amazing book that we are reading together in the Crossroad’s Women’s Bible Study right now and how profound Tullian Tchividjian is with his exposé on God’s inexhaustible grace. I am anxious to explain just how much God has grown the numbers in our women’s Bible study over the past two years.

While all those things are important, I cannot help but dwell on the fact that God has made us to walk together and live life together. To stand in the gap for one another when we cannot stand alone. The women at Crossroads have done that for me and will willingly do that for you. The genuine love for the Lord and for His people that you will find in our study is by far more profound than any one book we might choose to read. God can and will speak to your hearts in many ways, but there is no language quite as precious as that of a sister in Christ as she falls to her knees in prayer over your life and your issues.

My hope is that Crossroad’s Women’s Ministry becomes just that. We will always have opportunity for there to be iron sharpening iron and will always have events that give you breaks from the business of life. But to have a group of women that hold the line for you when you feel week or weary is irreplaceable. So please, as you read this, examine what your walk with God is in need of. If that need is genuine friendship and fellowship, I encourage you to find time in your world to connect with the women of faith that sit in the seats next to you on Sunday morning. We would love to engage in a friendship with you that has the potential to change your view on walking in Christ together.

Thank you for your time. Be blessed and become a blessing.

In Humble Service,

Wanda Jackson
