A faithful presence of love in the absences of our city.

Christmas Offering

This December our hope is that we will all give something to the Christmas Offering. We're asking everyone in the church - members and attenders - to be prepared to give. We're asking for two things.

Your Impossible Prayer Request - You'll receive an envelope with a blank 3x5 card on it. Please write down your impossible prayer request, which is something you think God cannot ever do for you. Make it impossible.

Your Extra Christmas Offering Gift - This is above your normal tithes and offerings. This may be from a bonus you're getting or from your savings or from something you've realized you don't need after all. It's great if we get some large gifts from those who have the means, and also a lot of little gifts that add up. We'd like for everyone to give something, but it's okay if you don't.

You can give online at the www.crossroadsabq.com/give page, or write a check and indicate the Christmas Offering on the line, or write down what you plan to give by the end of the year so we'll be able to tally it up.

The Christmas Offering will be taken up on Sunday, December 13th. But you can continue to give beyond the 13th (20th, 27th or even into Jan)

For our first Christmas Offering we're asking for $20,000!
Here is the breakdown for where that money would go if we received it:

$6,000 - Money to help us meet our budget requirements for the year
$6,000 - Salary for a part time administrator
$5,000 - This money is going towards ministry work outside of the church, money to our missionaries, and mission work (the Riggs with CRU, the Coppedges with RUF, work at La Mesa to help meet the needs of some families there, and Adam’s church plant on the Westside primarily)
$3,000 - Worship - A/V Equipment - this includes screens, mics, a new computer/iPad

We hope you'll be excited about these projects. Most of these involve really important and exciting ministry opportunities.

Getting on budget isn't very sexy, but that's a big chunk of money that we'd like to get off the books so we can use it for other things.

The next chapter in the life of Crossroads in fulfilling our mission of living, speaking and serving as the presence of Jesus, will require a heavier aspect of administration and follow-through. As the church grows and has grown, this takes Justin away from the primary responsibilities of preaching/teaching, shepherding, and leading. So, a way to help the church fulfill her mission is by getting a part-time administrator who will do a hundred and one things that will help us fulfill the mission. Our hope and goal is to hire someone within the next few months.

Our main avenue for growth and mission is still our Sunday morning worship service. It is our front door, and we have had many needs go unmet in this area during the first 3 years at the Hiland. These things will help with the execution and production of Sunday service.

The Deacon Team is doing great work for us. We want to continue to help them with funds available to serve those in need, as well as funds to bless our missionaries and their work in our city and region. This money will be divided up among those we support and will go to help them in their work.

If we all share, we can see great things happen. Please be praying about what God is asking you to contribute. Let's all give something.
