Christ demonstrated that the ministry of the church must include deeds of mercy as well as proclamation of the gospel. It cannot be limited to Christians nor can it be an impersonal provision of resources. Instead, it is a voluntary expression of gratitude of God’s mercies. The following are examples of mercy ministries currently supported at City Presbyterian Church:

LA MESA ELEMENTARY
La Mesa is our neighbor in the International District, near Louisiana and Central. The student body of 700 is predominantly Hispanic/Latino and Navajo, and approximately 70% are English language learners. Add to this that 99% qualify for free or reduced lunches through APS, and it is clear that there is an amazing need and opportunity to extend Christ's love through service to this school.
