Good Friday marks the death of Jesus Christ. It’s called “good” because of what Jesus’ death means for the redemption of the world. We celebrate at City Presbyterian by having a Tenebrae service. Tenebrae means “darkness.” Darkness struck the world at midday on the day Jesus died. We remember this as we narrate the events of Jesus’ death. The service features the readings from the stations of the cross, times of corporate singing and silent reflection. The service moves towards darkness, and ends in total darkness, as we leave in solemn silence.

Join us Friday evening, March 30th at 7:00pm for this special service! Childcare will be available for nursery aged children under four years old.
